More Cthulhu Web Sightings

Much love to the best source for Cthulhu imagery, “My Confined Space”, where we find all these pix:

First, a little green piece of a spindly, angry Cthulhu.

This is a very powerful Lovecraftian scene. They say it’s a book cover. I love the translucent second eyelid.
Here’s another skinny Cthulhu (don’t know why the artists like him skinny) This one looks like a cross between the sculpture from the story “Call of Cthulhu” and Fantasia’s “Night on Bald Mountain”
Here’s a lovely pencil sketch of a new direction for Cthulhu. Feral, in composition, but still identifiably Cthulhu.
This looks like a desktop wallpaper for one of the “Abe’s Oddesey” games.

The second image down, the one with the cool translucent eyelid, is the album cover for the 1990 Obituary album, Cause of Death. It may well be a book cover, but that’s where I first saw the image. Just for your info.

Keep up the top work on the site.

The second pic is indeed a book cover, specifically the (back) cover of the 1982’s “The Best of H.P. Lovecraft: Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre” (Del Ray). Parts of it were also used as the covers for a series of smaller paperbacks. It’s not the whole thing; the panel continues on the spine and front.

The work, done in 1981, is by well-known fantasy artist Michael Whelan.
